Job Purpose or Objective(s): ​Supports low voltage Choctaw Nation cabling standards and installations for Telcom connectivity in all Choctaw Nation buildings; manager cable vendors and contact for new building installations. You will report to the Director of Network Services.
Primary Tasks
- You will cable design, distribution, troubleshooting, and installation for CATE6, single mode fiber, and multi-mode fiber. Will manage cabling vendors in following Choctaw Nation requirements.
- Determine methods and procedures by coordinating activities of other personnel; design cabling solutions, troubleshoot problems/outages, assign tasks to be worked.
- Communicate among teams in the design and support for cabling solutions and helps to achieve expectations.
- Influence cabling standards, troubleshooting methods, and installations within multiple building layouts.
- You will set cabling standards for all types of cables including CAT6, and Fiber for access connectivity within buildings and Carrier WAN connections.
- Understand and direct technicians and vendors in following Choctaw Nation cabling requirements for business offices, medical buildings, community centers, Head starts, day cares, and other buildings.
- Train and direct technicians in cabling standards, Management of third-party or vendors.
- Support non-VoIP voice solutions.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field or 4 years related experience.
- Expert of Telecom industry cabling standards BICSI, and understanding of delivering cable connectivity across all Choctaw Nation buildings.
- 5 years' experience of Telecom
- Work history with Telecom leadership
- 5 years of Leading Telecom teams in supporting or installing voice and data solutions.
- 3 years of installing fiber and copper cabling
