Supplier Relations Manager

Job Description

This position is open to current Procurement associates only. 

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Ensure that suppliers comply with ethical and functional requirements for conducting business with CNO and that issues are resolved promptly to protect future business opportunities and the interests of CNO. You will report to the Senior Manager of Procurement Support.

Primary Tasks

  • You will manage supplier relations issues for all buyers and procurement customers.
  • Maintain the Choctaw Nation Preferred Supplier and Certified Minority Owned suppliers’ databases.
  • Provide status updates on all supplier relations activity and report status weekly and make recommendations for engagements to resolve issues.
  • Provide input and guidance for procedure enhancements to protect relationships between CNO and suppliers of goods and services.
  • You will be the primary liaison between the Procurement Department, CNO Departments and Suppliers for improving customer service, supplier performance and buyer efficiency.
  • Determine the appropriateness and timeliness of engaging CNO legal services for dispute resolution or initiation of punitive actions with a supplier.
  • Communicate with management about any issues that affect the viability of continuing operations with a specific vendor.
  • Maintain the value of all goods sourced for the benefit of the Choctaw Nation and its members.
  • Document issues, actions and resolution of Supplier Relations activity.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field or 4 years related experience.
  • Experience with supplier contract interpretation and negotiation
  • 3+ years of experience with procurement principles
  • Five (5) years’ experience in purchasing, supplier relations, or directly related
