Patient Access Supervisor – Talihina

Full-time, regular position as management within Talihina’s Patient Access Rep department | Schedule will be M-F 8-4:30 with potential for evenings, nights, and/or weekends depending on department needs.

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Patient Access Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Registration Department. You will assist management in enforcing organizational standards and regulations and ensure patient flow and ultimate patient satisfaction. You will report to the Patient Access Manager.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Oversee the hiring, training, evaluating, and mentoring of the Registration Department.

  2. Organize department work processes to ensure workflow.

  3. Complete patient registration processes such as creating new patient charts, scheduling appointments, answer phone calls, directing patients, and updating patient records.

  4. Communicate with internal departments to provide a positive experience for patients.

  5. Perform audits on registration staff.

  6. Maintain departmental statistics, reports and registries.

  7. Provide staff training and continued education.

  8. Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree in related field
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or willingness to obtain
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, The Affordable Care Act Law, and the Choctaw Nation patient eligibility guidelines
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
  • Three [3] years supervisory experience
  • Five [5] years of experience in patient registration
