Maintenance Mechanic 2

This is a full-time position working M-F, 8am-4:30pm. The starting pay is $27.88 per hour. Weekly earned wage access is an option for this position. 

Job Purpose or Objective:

 Responsible for the construction and general labor which may include (but is not limited to) Carpentry, HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, Plumbing, and/or other construction needs as assigned. 

Primary Tasks:

1. Completing work orders in the repair, maintenance, and improvement of facilities. Data entry for all work orders. 

2. Perform master carpentry work; frame walls, hang drywall, hang suspended ceilings, build shelves, lay flooring, paint, etc. 

3. Perform locksmith tasks; repair locks, door handles, and door closures, as well as install new door equipment. 

4. Respond to all building safety concerns related to construction. 

5. Ensures tools and equipment are maintained and repaired.

6. Maintain the cleanliness of facilities inside and outside during the construction process; sweep, pick up trash, and wash as required on a daily basis. 

7. Follow safety protocol and notify supervisor immediately of any problem, crisis, and/or emergency situation to ensure a safe work environment. 

8. To read, understand and explain blueprints and specifications when necessary. 

9. Supervise Construction Specialist I. Ensure construction documentation, schematics and other critical records are correct and maintained in an organized manner. 

10. Other duties as may be assigned. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 High school diploma or GED. 

Strong working knowledge of all aspects of construction, repair and service; the ability to troubleshoot problems and take appropriate action. 

Advanced knowledge of the standard principles, methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the construction and repair of building structures, machinery, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment fixtures. 

Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC equipment to assist technicians in performing repairs on new and used equipment. 

Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Must be able to lift drywall, framing material, five (5) gallon paint pails, and concrete mix sacks. 

Three (3) to five (5) years of hands-on general construction experience in the maintenance of building facilities and grounds, repair of structures, machinery, plumbing, HVAC, electrical wiring and fixtures.

Target Requirements:

High school diploma or GED with certifications in associated fields.

 Excellent working knowledge of all aspects of construction, repair and service; the ability to troubleshoot problems and take appropriate action. 

Advanced knowledge of the standard principles, methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment used in the construction and repair of building structures, machinery, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment fixtures. 

Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC equipment to assist technicians in performing repairs on new and used equipment.

 Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Computer skills in Facility Management. Must be able to lift drywall, framing material, five (5) gallon paint pails, and concrete mix sacks. 

Seven (7) to ten (10) years of hands-on general construction experience in the maintenance of building facilities and grounds, repair of structures, machinery, plumbing, HVAC, electrical wiring and fixtures.
