Environmental Technician
Job Description
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm| Start Rate: $23.35
Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Environmental Technician, you will assist with and implementing Tribal environmental programs. You will report to the Environmental Director/Compliance Officer.
Primary Tasks
- Conduct fieldwork together with Environmental Coordinators. This will include but is not limited: to site inspections, collection of environmental samples, compilation of data and reporting of data to appropriate internal sources.
- Perform basic calculations and computer data system updates.
- Work with Environmental Coordinators and Specialists to maintain accurate Choctaw Nation Environmental policies.
- Process documents and complete tasks necessary to achieve departmental and grant objectives.
- Operate equipment including pickup truck, boat, ATV, and environmental sampling equipment.
- Assure calibration, maintenance, operation, and servicing of equipment is completed in conjunction with Environmental Coordinators.
- Participate in training events and assist Environmental Coordinators in completing training to staff as needed.
- Conduct research on various environmental sampling methods as well as State and Federal regulations related to environmental programs.
- You will perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma
- Basic computer skills
- Able to work independently or in a group.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
