Casino Maintenance Physical Plant Operator

Job Description

  Start Rate: $19.50/hour | Full-Time | 3rd shift Tu-Sa Su-M Off

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The physical plant operator will monitor and operate heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, perform preventative maintenance and non-scheduled maintenance, and maintain safety standards. You will report to the Physical Plant Manager.

Primary Tasks

  • You will check for proper functioning of boiler operations.
  • Inspect air conditioning and blower systems.
  • Maintain record of inspection, inventory and maintenance of equipment.
  • Monitor unscheduled maintenance of boilers, fan room equipment, cooling tower and other engine room equipment and systems.
  • You will make emergency repairs and adjustments to building system components.
  • Program and monitor equipment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot all chillers, cooling towers, pressure vessels, boiler permits and boiler controls.
  • Perform all plumbing, electrical or HVAC requirements of the buildings.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations and governmental agency directives.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge and ability to understand, work with, make minor repairs to and troubleshoot all systems within a complex facility.
  • General understanding of all major building systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heat and cooling equipment.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of testing equipment and ability to diagnose operational malfunctions.
  • One (1) year of work experience. Technical training in a mechanical electrical field may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
