Description
Location: This position can be officed in Talihina, McAlester, or Poteau, OK. Will require working in all locations.
Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for activities directed towards coordinating normal nutrition and therapeutic nutrition services in various hospital programs to maintain and improve nutritional health status of those receiving the service.
Primary Tasks:
Serve as the Service Director for food service operations for the recovery centers, providing direction on food safety, menu planning, training for food service staff, and maintaining established policies and procedures.
Provides direction to recovery center food service staff on general food safety, safe food handling practices, and conducts regular inspections to ensure compliance
Implements training programs for recovery center food service staff
Menu planner for normal and therapeutic diets for the recovery centers (in addition to those for hospital inpatients)
Screen, monitor, and improve nutritional status in accordance with each patient’s plan of care.
Develop screening criteria in order to evaluate patient nutritional need.
Provide normal and therapeutic diet counseling to inpatients.
Complete patient documentation in the electronic health record.
Provide guidance to the Dietary Department regarding the provision of normal and therapeutic diets, food safety, and nutrition-related compliance concerns.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Licensed Dietitian in the state of Oklahoma or become licensed within 90 days of employment
Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Completed a didactic program in dietetics accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)
Excellent communication skills required
Basic computer skills
4 years of experience in clinical nutrition and patient counseling
TARGET
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Licensed Dietitian in the state of Oklahoma
Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Completed a didactic program in dietetics accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)
Excellent communication skills required
Basic computer skills
6 years of experience in clinical nutrition and patient counseling
