  • This position holds clinic hours Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm. Please email [email protected] for pay information

  • Job Purpose or Objective(s): Provide speech-language therapy services under a physician’s order for eligible patients through Choctaw Nation Health Services.

  • This position is subject to the Supreme Court's mandate for the COVID-19 vaccine. The Choctaw Nation provides medical and/or religious exemptions to those who cannot get the vaccine

  • Primary Tasks:

  1. Evaluate, plan, direct, and treat all eligible patients referred for speech-language pathology to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.

  2. Administer speech-language treatments to habilitate patients with congenital disorders and/or developmental delays.

  3. Complete patient documentation within the electronic health record.

  4. Provide training to the facility and clinic staff in areas pertaining to speech-language therapy.

  5. Oversee speech-language pathology assistants, students, and ward clerk to ensure quality patient care and ST services.

  6. Utilize and participate in quality assurance processes within the department: clinic and facility policies and procedures, HIPAA/HITECH compliance, Nation Patient Safety Goals, CMS/Joint Commission Standards, State and Federal speech therapy practice laws, Medicare/Medicaid rules and regulations, and other oversight regulations, and maintains CNHSA mission and vision.

  7. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Communication Sciences and Disorders

  • Oklahoma License

  • ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence

  • BLS certification within 90 days of employment

  • Ability to be organized, follow through with projects, and complete tasks on time

  • Knowledge of speech-language pathology documentation requirements

  • Good communication skills

TARGET

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Communication Sciences and Disorders

  • Oklahoma License

  • ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence

  • Current BLS certification

  • Ability to be organized, follow through with projects, and complete tasks on time

  • Extensive background in Speech services

  • Proficient documentation skills within electronic health record

  • Excellent communication skills

  • 5 years’ experience with supervision speech-language pathology staff and/or student
