Dietitian (Poteau Nutrition)

Description

Job Summary: Responsible for coordinating normal and therapeutic nutrition services for ambulatory clinic departments and programs in order to maintain and improve nutritional health status of those patients receiving the service.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process by accurately obtaining and interpreting nutrition and medical information for patients at nutritional risk.

  • Screens, monitors, and improves nutritional status in accordance with each patient's plan of care.

  • Assesses nutrition education needs and provides normal and therapeutic nutrition education in an outpatient setting.

  • Completes patient documentation in the electronic health record.

  • Provides guidance to community partners regarding the provision of normal and therapeutic diets, food safety, and nutrition-related concerns.

  • Other duties as assigned within scope and competency of the associate.

Requirements (Education, Experience):

MINIMUM

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.

  • Must be a Licensed Dietitian in the state of Oklahoma OR become licensed within 90 days of employment.

  • Must be a Registered Dietician with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

  • Must have completed a didactic program in dietetics accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)

  • Excellent communication skills required.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in clinical nutrition and patient counseling.

TARGET

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Licensed Dietitian in the state of Oklahoma

  • Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

  • Completed a didactic program in dietetics accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE)

  • Excellent communication skills required

  • Basic computer skills

  • 4 years of experience in clinical nutrition and patient counseling
