Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Tribal Police Captain, you will oversee the operations and activities of the Tribal Police Department in order achieve a high level of safety and security for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. You will report to the Director of Law Enforcement.
Primary Tasks:
You will oversee on the job training to Lieutenant and Sergeants to ensure that they understand the procedures.
You will manage Lieutenant and Sergeants activities, performance, personal appearance, and equipment.
You will interview new hires and maintain materials and documentation concerning subordinate personnel.
You will select personnel according to experience in area with which programme is concerned, such as social or public welfare, education, economics, or public relations.
You will instruct employees on specific tasks and job techniques, ensuring requests are completed as reported.
You will review reports and records of activities to monitor programme objective and modifies or changes methodology to redirect activities and attain goals.
You will assign officers to special investigations as the needs arise for their specific skills.
You will perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Requirements:
At least 21 years of age
Have a valid State driver’s license
Qualify yearly with department firearms
Ensure report writing, composition or correspondence
Use law enforcement communication equipment
Eight years of experience in law enforcement
Two years experience in a supervisory role
