Radiology Tech

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Performs examinations and diagnostic work using computerized electronic equipment.

Primary Tasks:

  • Operate mobile and stationary imaging equipment in a variety of clinical settings to produce high quality diagnostic images.

  • Consult with provider/radiologist to explore the possibility of other nonionizing or lower radiation dose modalities that would provide the same or like clinical information in adherence to the ALARA concept.

  • Screen, recognize, physician and radiologist consultation when/if needed, in regards to patient's past and present clinical condition and the ability to conform examination request.

  • Guide patients through their imaging experience through a systematic process in answering questions and concerns regarding the imaging procedure and results process. Provide to the patient any pertinent post exam instructions.

  • Review potential adverse effects with ionizing radiation and various contrast medications effect at a physiological and cellular level.

  • Communicate and coordinate patient care pertaining to diagnostic imaging with the entire CNHSA team in support of our organizations' mission statement and goal.

  • Organize patient flow and workflow management to ensure that procedures are adequately scheduled and/or performed in a timely manner.

  • Other duties as assigned within scope and competency of the associate.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certified

  • Working knowledge of various digital imaging environments

  • Capable of applying techniques into consideration the patient’s clinical history and conditions to safely obtain diagnostic studies

  • Competent in the administration of various types and routes of contrast medication encountered in the clinical setting

  • One year direct clinical experience, professional or student, in imaging protocols and procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist

TARGET

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
