Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): Manage Project SERV; Provide direct advocacy and supportive services to victims/survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking within Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma jurisdiction.
Primary Tasks:
Provide intakes, safety planning, case management, and other transitional housing needs to victims/survivors.
Assist in accessing resources/services to meet emergency, basic needs including the legal system both tribal and state, and make appropriate referrals as needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with tribal code, program policy and procedure, and federal grant guidelines.
Attend on-going trainings/workshops/meetings to continue to enhance and increase advocacy and professional skills.
Maintain client file with appropriate documentation as well as maintain statistical data to complete monthly and other reports as necessary to demonstrate services provided.
Become knowledgeable of tribal, state, and federal policies that impact victim/survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Develop working relationships with tribal and nontribal agencies and organizations that provide services to victims/survivors.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field and one year of experience in professional social work/social services field.
Combined professional and educational experience will be considered.
Basic knowledge of victims of crime and resources/services available.
Demonstrate an awareness of working with American Indian victims, sensitivity, and compassion.
Knowledge of case management, writing skills, communication skills, good organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to use support devices such as computers, fax machines, copiers/scanners, phones, and tablets.
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs of force.
TARGET
Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field and one year of experience providing advocacy services to victims/survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking.
