Licensed Professional Counselor - Victims Assistance

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Provide professional counseling services designed in assisting victims with counseling and group therapy sessions. These sessions will be paramount for program participants as they transform from victim to survivor.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with problems as a result of being victimized.

  2. Counsel clients individually and in group sessions to assist in adjusting to life and making changes.

  3. Act as client advocates’ in order to coordinate required services.

  4. Schedule more sessions with clients/victims which will allow for a continuum of care.

  5. Analyze needs assessment data, develop assessment report and update logic model.

  6. Participate in Victim Services focus groups.

  7. Conduct and prepare Quarterly Victim Services Advisory Board Meetings and contact Advisory Board Members, prepare Agenda and hand out materials.

  8. Prepare and submit monthly report to Director by monthly deadline.

  9. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Master’s degree in social services or related field

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

  • Must attend Oklahoma Victims Assistance Academy

  • Familiar with the grant and program operations

  • One year counseling experience as an LPC

TARGET

  • Master’s degree in social services or related field

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

  • Must attend Oklahoma Victims Assistance Academy

  • Familiar with the grant and program operations

  • Experience in the delivery of services to Native American Victims of crime

  • Two years counseling experience as an LPC
