Licensed Professional Counselor - C.H.A.T. Program

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Provide therapy to individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Provide individual, family, and/or group counseling for clients of various programs who meet eligibility standards.

  2. Assists individuals to deal with issues associated with, but not limited to; addictions and substance abuse, family, marital problems, depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, self-esteem, aging and any other emotional stressors.

  3. Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders.

  4. Prepare and maintain all treatment records, maintain confidentiality of client records, and upholds client safety standards.

  5. Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical needs of clients.

  6. Serves as liaison between program staff, clients, relatives, internal and outside agencies.

  7. Interpret and assist in resolving problems that relate to medical condition and/or hospitalization.

  8. Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or developv treatment plans.

  9. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related human services

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LADC-MH, LMFT) or under supervision for licensure

  • Ability to negotiate, mediate and be assertive at a professional level

  • Demonstrate a high level of cultural competence, sensitivity and responsiveness

  • Knowledge of case planning and management

  • Strong writing, communication, organizational and time-management skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • One (1) year working experience in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities

TARGET

  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related human services

  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LADC-MH, LMFT)

  • CDSVRP accreditation through the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General

  • Ability to negotiate, mediate and be assertive at a professional level

  • Demonstrate a high level of cultural competence, sensitivity and responsiveness

  • Knowledge of case planning and management

  • Strong writing, communication, organizational and time-management skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Three (3) years working experience in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities
