Secondary Education Teacher-Jones Academy (PT-Temp)

Description

This is a Part-Time Temporary position working up to 30 hours a week.

Job Purpose or Objective(s): To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Execute daily lessons that are engaging and are aligned with a year-long scope and sequence.

  2. Teach students using various methods and resources, remote and in person, including the Student Success Center.

  3. Compile, analyze, display and use data on student progress and achievement to target and differentiate instruction.

  4. Perform clerical duties required with textbooks, instructional supplies, student reports and records, attendance reports, etc.

  5. Celebrate student work on a regular basis using bulletin boards, articles, and other methods.

  6. Communicate regularly with parent/guardians on the progress of their child.

  7. Work with others as a team in order to reach the goals set for each student.

  8. Provide or connect students with tutoring resources.

  9. Participate in school activities/events beyond regular school hours.

  10. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Bachelors’ degree in Education

  • Secondary Oklahoma State teacher certification

  • Knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate hardware and software applications.

  • Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally underserved students

  • Strong interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction

  • Effective communication skills

  • No prior experience

TARGET

  • Master’s degree in Education

  • Secondary Oklahoma State teacher certification

  • CDL- Bus Driver Certification

  • Knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate hardware and software applications.

  • Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally underserved students

  • Strong interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction

  • Effective communication skills

  • 4 years directly related experience
