Technical Support Engineer 1 (Gaming)

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Technical Support Engineer’s role is to provide high level support for all computer-based operations so that our end users can accomplish organizational goals more efficiently. This includes configuring IT support tools used within the organization and assessing known problems to provide long term solutions to increase effectiveness of our support teams.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Deploy applications, patches, and updates to the Choctaw Nation desktop environment.

  2. Maintain and deploy PowerShell scripts to supplement packaging and other support tools as required.

  3. Maintain knowledge bases and FAQ resources on the file server to aid in problem resolution.

  4. Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment.

  5. Provide support to Technical Support Specialists to help them serve the End-User community more proficiently.

  6. Modify configurations, utilities, and software default settings for VDI.

  7. Modify configuration, utilities, and maintain Print roaming services and Single sign on software.

  8. Create, test, and deploy software packages through EPM and Group policy.

  9. Other duties as may be assigned by management.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent working experience

  • Experience in Windows, Linux, and virtualization environments such as VMWare

  • Experience in desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 7/10, Server 2008/2012

  • Experience with PowerShell, VBScript, and batch scripting languages

  • Experience creating custom scripts to drive installs, uninstalls, custom actions and system management

  • Ability to troubleshoot Packaging, Deployment, and System issues.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environment

  • 4 years related work experience

TARGET

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent working experience

  • Advanced experience in Windows, Linux, and virtualization environments such as VMWare

  • Advanced experience with desktop and server operating systems, including Windows 7/10 and Server 2008/2012

  • Experience with PowerShell, VBScript, and batch scripting languages

  • Experience creating custom scripts to drive installs, uninstalls, custom actions and system management

  • Ability to troubleshoot Packaging, Deployment, and System issues.

  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environment

  • 6 years related work experience
