Tribal Broadband Coordinator
Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Program Manager - Broadband is responsible for ensuring the execution of initiatives related to increasing infrastructure and resource availability for broadband services within the Choctaw Nation Reservation. This position will draft and make recommendations related to broadband policies, foster relationships between public and private sector partners, align strategies and activities across divisions, participate in grant research and selection activities related to broadband and keep Choctaw Nation leadership apprised of technology changes that may impact strategy and investment in broadband technologies.
Primary Tasks:
Identify, enable, and establish key broadband policies and best practices.
Coordinates broadband projects and planning activities with other departments staff and external organizations to ensure timely completion of projects and meeting of deadlines.
Researches, conducts studies, analyzes and makes recommendations on the feasibility of current and proposed broadband services and evaluates their effectiveness.
Meets and confers with representatives from other local and regional service providers to address inter-agency services coordination and regional broadband policy issues, including development, documentation, and oversight.
Fosters and maintains relationship with public and private sector partners to promote broadband service expansion.
Researches and makes recommendations regarding broadband grant opportunities that align to strategies.
Develops a communication plan to reflect the advancement of broadband through a variety of activities
Organizes, directs, and assigns the work of special-purpose program teams. Reviews reports and ensures the successful completion of projects.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business or Public Administration.
Knowledge of the principles and practices related to broadband deployment
Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
Demonstrated success in IT planning, organization and development.
Ability to speak and write clearly to inform, negotiate and influence decision-makers at all levels
Ability to plan and manage a multi-million-dollar projects effectively.
Demonstrated project management skills
5 years related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
TARGET
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business or Public Administration
Expert knowledge of the principles and practices related to broadband deployment
Expert knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
Demonstrated success in IT planning, organization and development.

Demonstrated ability to plan and manage a multi-million-dollar budget effectively.
Expert project management skills
8-10 years related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
