Senior Boiler Technician
Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The boiler technician is responsible for boiler maintenance and replacement. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair boiler pumps, boiler controllers, and system installation.
Primary Tasks:
Responsible for water heater maintenance/troubleshooting/replacement and Boiler (domestic, hydronic, and steam) maintenance, boiler pumps and circulating, boiler controller, troubleshooting, and system installation.
Conduct and follow regular preventive maintenance schedules and inspections on boiler units, make necessary adjustments or repairs, service, and repair boilers.
Diagnose, prioritize, and complete assigned work orders correctly, following approved methods, in a timely manner. Work in coordination with other HVAC technicians to maintain comfort and Protection of CNO properties.
Actively utilize the CMMS to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and that labor, material, and incidental costs are captured and properly recorded.
Diagnose equipment problems, replace, or repair parts, detect, and replace defective control modules
Review procurement documents and assist in the contracting of third-party vendors
Ensure construction documentation, schematics, panel schedules, and other critical records are correct and maintained by the Choctaw Retention Policy.
Procure pricing from vendors on tools, equipment, supplies, and parts based on project or repair needs
Maintain all licensing and curriculum needed to perform the job.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
MINIMUM
Bachelor’s degree or Contractor license in one or more MEP trades
Ten years working as part of a construction or boiler service team
OSHA 10-hour certification
In-depth understanding of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
In-depth understanding of building codes, mechanical codes, electrical codes, and plumbing codes
Technical project management skills related to planning, design, construction, and/ or relocation projects
Excellent customer service skills
Well-developed wrote/verbal communication skills
Must be well organized and detail-oriented, while applying sound judgment and decision-making skills to both routine and non-routine issues that arise
TARGET
Masters or Contractor license in one or more MEP trades.
Twelve years working as part of a construction or MEP service team
OSHA 30-hour certification
Exceptional knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems
Exceptional knowledge of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes
Exceptional knowledge of own discipline/department for entry to medium-sized projects.
Proven ability to understand and recognize complex design problems
Ability to manage a budget and department costs
Strong knowledge of all Office suite products
