Description

Starting Rate: $17.55 / hr

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for Tribal Police, Tribal Security and Tribal EMS.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Knowledge of personal computers and basic computer functions

  2. Knowledge of communications equipment and proper terminology of radio etiquette.

  3. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.

  4. Must be able to maintain poise and professionalism under stress.

  5. Ability to answer incoming calls both on phone lines and radio communications simultaneously.

  6. Knowledge of customer service techniques and concepts.

  7. Ability to maintain dispatch logs of Tribal Police, Security and EMS on the assigned computer program

  8. Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Currently possess or can obtain and maintain an OLETS certification required

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Displays the ability to reason and react calmly and quickly in an emergency.

  • Exhibits the ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, multitasking ability, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction and communicate with groups and or individuals quickly and effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Must have knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate hardware and software.

TARGET

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Prior Dispatching experience preferred.

  • Displays the ability to reason and react calmly and quickly in an emergency.

  • Exhibits the ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
