This position starts at $49,954.50/year.

Job Summary: Coordinate between employers, participants, government agencies, non-profits, area employers and education institutions in order to develop employment opportunities for job seekers.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Process applications, obtain and verify that all proper documentation is attached, determine eligibility, approve/deny and maintain application files.

  2. Recruit clients by conducting interviews and creating an environment in which the applicant is comfortable discussing barriers/challenges.

  3. Analyze needs and provide guidance to participants by making referrals and assist with creating a written employment development plan toward career decisions.

  4. File, scan, and maintain records of participants’ allowances, performances, projected completion dates, and conducts follow-up after completion of program.

  5. Coordinate with youth counselors to collect timesheets, enter time into Kronos Program, and distribute checks.

  6. Provide a monthly report on participants, program data, field observations, and a projection ledger of all funds spent.

  7. Represent the Choctaw Nation through outreach and recruitment activities, job fairs, job search expos, youth orientations, trainings, conferences, state/tribal functions as assigned by Director and maintains the department Facebook page.

  8. Collaborate with Marketing, PR and a graphic designer to create, promote and organize the production of brochures’, posters, advertisements and all marketing collateral.

  9. Process travel authorizations, vouchers, mileage, stipends, and all other invoices for department, staff, field staff, and summer counselors.

  10. Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or social work

  • Ability to listen, motivate and coaching people

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships

  • Adapt to changing priorities work well under pressure

  • Good multitasking and time management skills

  • Communicate quickly and effectively both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction

  • Knowledge and use of appropriate hardware and software applications

  • 2 years of related experience
