Light Equipment Operator Durant Resort

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Equipment Operator is responsible for constructing and maintaining landscaped areas, parking lots, service roads; signage upkeep, clearing an area in preparation for additional work; ensuring availability of items to complete projects on time; and coordinating work flow and ensuring safety of guests and co-workers.

Start Rate: $15.50

Primary Tasks :

  1. Operate equipment including forklifts, back hoe, zero turn mowers, tractors, skid loaders, etc. for the purpose of constructing and maintaining landscaped areas, fences, parking lots, building pads and service roads.

  2. Haul a variety of items including trash, debris, metal, furniture, etc. for the purpose of removing unwanted items from facilities in compliance with established guidelines.

  3. Perform basic maintenance of equipment such as oil changes, replacing filters, spark plugs, replacing and sharpening blades, etc.

  4. Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition.

  5. Perform a variety of landscaping work for the purpose of completing assigned work orders and/or maintenance projects.

  6. Transport mowers and other heavy equipment to and from work sites for the purpose of ensuring their availability for use in completing work assignments.

  7. Respond to emergency situations including snow, ice on sidewalks, etc. for the purpose of assisting in resolving immediate safety concerns.

  8. Excavate property including dirt, asphalt, concrete, and debris for the purpose of installing, repairing, improving and maintaining landscaped areas and fields in a safe and clean condition.

  9. Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Mechanically inclined and prior experience with various technical, mechanical requirements of the job

  • General knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo related to this field

  • Basic knowledge of chemicals interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods

  • Knowledge of cleaning machines and tools, including their designs, uses, basic repair, and maintenance

  • General knowledge of cleaning/maintenance requirements in the hospitality/casino industry

  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations

  • Two (2) to five (5) years’ experience operating equipment including: forklifts, back hoes, zero turn mowers, tractors, skid loaders, etc.

TARGET

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid Class CDL

  • Mechanically inclined and prior experience with various technical, mechanical requirements of the job

  • Advance knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo related to this field

  • Advance knowledge of chemicals interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods

  • Prior experience and knowledge of cleaning machines and tools, including their designs, uses, basic repair, and maintenance

  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations

  • Five plus (5 ) years’ experience operating equipment including: forklifts, back hoes, zero turn mowers, tractors, skid loaders, etc.
