Information Technology Intern
Job Summary: The Information Technology Internship role offers students currently pursuing a Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related Information Technology degree the opportunity to supplement coursework with meaningful, practical experience. Intern assignments may focus in, but not limited to, one of the following areas: Project Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Network Administration, Application/Web Development, Enterprise Information Management, Systems Security, Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, Business Analysis, and Quality Assurance (QA) Testing.
Contributing to the Choctaw Nation’s Information Technology business objectives by completing specific work assignments dependent on intern’s best-technology fit and internal client’s needs.
With supervision participating in IT responsibilities which may include basic-level project management duties, analyzing and designing new or existing computer applications, helping create design documents, performing coding and testing, assisting in converting business requirements to system requirements, assisting in data collection and hardware inventories, capturing and identifying metrics to show the health of IT environment, document action items from various meetings and publish to all meeting participants
Acting in a training and mentored role to gain hands on, operational knowledge of assigned IT responsibilities; perform basic IT responsibilities, assignments and/or projects including comprehension of technical manuals, shadowing experience IT Staff Associates, technical webinars, internal coursework, etc.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Active student with major in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related undergraduate degree program with career aspirations in Information Technology.
Choctaw CDIB or Choctaw member status.
In process of completing first semester of Sophomore-level or above; up to second semester Senior-level standing in degree requirements.
Must be currently attending an accredited college, university, or postsecondary educational institution.
Must be available to work 40 hour per week eight consecutive weeks.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5; 3.0 GPA or greater preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written on a technical level.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to lift 20lb or more.
