Information Systems Engineer 2 (Desktop Engineering)

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Administration of compute and storage systems and recommends improvements necessary to ensure operation of Choctaw Nation systems. Performing IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs supporting the company infrastructure business processes. May contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Endpoint management design and administration utilizing Dell Wyse, SCCM, Intune and other tools.

  2. Design, test, and deployment of polices and software to protect endpoints.

  3. Providing direct technical support for the planning, design, and implementation of releases, upgrades, or changes to the desktop environment.

  4. Ensure and monitor health and compliance of the desktop environment

  5. Assists in packaging applications for deployment through SCCM and Intune.

  6. Apply company policies and procedures to resolve issues in a timely manner

  7. Coordinate maintenance schedule and notifications with internal IT teams

  8. Assures system security

  9. Other duties as assigne

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or professional IT certification

  • Superb spoken and written communications skills

  • Effective customer service skills

  • Ability to perform complex tasks using independent judgment and critical thinking

  • Experience managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting system infrastructure based on best practices

  • Working knowledge of SCCM and Intune experience.

  • Must be comfortable working in an accountable and deadline-oriented environment and maintain flexible working hours

  • 3 years’ experience supporting critical IT infrastructure

TARGET

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, professional IT certification (MCSA, SCCM…).

  • Superb spoken and written communications skills

  • Effective customer service skills

  • Ability to perform complex tasks using independent judgment and critical thinking

  • Proven experience managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting system infrastructure based on best practices

  • Server operating system and active directory troubleshooting experience

  • Must be comfortable working in an accountable, deadline-oriented environment and maintain flexible working hours

  • 5 years’ experience supporting a virtual desktop environment.
