Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Director of Hotel Housekeeping is directly responsible for the implementation and execution of goals and objectives of the Housekeeping Department as set forth by Hotel Management to include guest satisfaction, business management and ensuring financial viability for the hotel within housekeeping.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Enforce and uphold AAA 4 Diamond cleanliness standards for all hotel rooms.

  2. Manage and maintain a detailed training program to meet or exceed targeted AAA 4 Diamond standards

  3. Manage and maintain a detailed inspection program to ensure that room cleanliness standards meet or exceed targeted AAA 4 Diamond standards.

  4. Promote teamwork and inclusiveness.

  5. Inspect quality of work for the housekeeping/laundry staff and oversee performance management.

  6. Establish an organized, well executed work detail for consistent cleanliness throughout hotel rooms to ensure guests receive a consistently clean environment with timely resolution of guest concerns.

  7. Responsible for financial management including but not limited to, development of budget guidelines of the Housekeeping Department, review invoices ensuring accuracy, while maintaining inventory and security of supplies for the housekeeping, maintenance, and laundry departments.

  8. Research vendors and work with Commerce Procurement to obtain cost effective and efficient supply replenishment.

  9. Respond and resolve emergency facility issues involving safety and security.

  10. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the housekeeping department in coordination with corporate.

  11. Perform other duties as may be assigned

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Associates degree in hospitality or related field or combination of education and experience.

  • Prior general maintenance experience preferred

  • Ability to perform job tasks of subordinates

  • Five (5) years Housekeeping Manager or above experience at a 500-room hotel

TARGET

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field

  • Prior general maintenance experience

  • Ability to perform job tasks of subordinates

  • Five (5) years Assistant Director of Housekeeping or above experience at 1000 room, preferably in hotel/casino environment.
