Growing Hope Intern
Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): To provide man power for the Growing Hope Program
Primary Tasks:
Assist the Growing Hope Manager and Greenhouse Assistant in planting and tending Choctaw heritage crops at Tvshkahumma
Travel to community garden sites and assist with planting and maintenance
Provide labor as needed at Oklahoma State Lehigh facility
Assist with community teaching about Choctaw heritage plants, traditional agriculture, and Indigenous food
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Willingness to get hands dirty and work outdoors in the sun and heat
Able to work with a group or individually
Driver’s license
Choctaw CDIB or Choctaw member status preferred
High School Diploma;
Enrolled in undergraduate program and pursuit of 4-year degree a plus
