Director of Development and Membership - Cultural Center
Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The lead role in establishing the vision for Choctaw Cultural Center fundraising including goals, benchmarks and timetables – in order to deepen relationships with Choctaw families and individual, corporate, and foundation leaders. Serves as the primary strategic architect of comprehensive development and membership programs for the Choctaw Cultural Center. These programs will advance the Choctaw Cultural Center’s mission and goals related to fundraising and superior member relations.
Primary Tasks:
Build and lead a results-oriented team responsible for implementing the development and membership strategies designed for opening year and beyond.
Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures for gift processing and donor acknowledgement, membership and donor database management, and solid financial reporting.
Implement and manage the software systems entry for ticketing, events, membership, donations, visitor services, and volunteer programs.
Work collaboratively with other Directors (internal and external), including the Chahta Foundation, to position advancement program and anticipate opportunities to expand program services.
Develop a strong Membership Program which includes guest services, member benefits, ticketing, and considerations for Choctaw Nation community as well as members of the general public.
Oversee membership/donor software for the Choctaw Cultural Center; ensure all data is entered and kept current, including working with software vendors.
Perform all other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, communications or related field
Demonstrated organization and detail orientation skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead others effectively
Background in managing customer relations
Software, database and overall computer skills
Experience with membership management software such as Blackbaud or Peoplesoft
Awareness of SMARTBOARD technology for trainings and programs
Knowledge of museum or cultural center best-practices
Three years' experience working in fundraising and membership management
TARGET
Master’s Degree in business administration, communications or related field
