Culinary Trainer

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Operational Training Venue Support staff facilitates for all food service personnel to ensure that every team member has the skills and knowledge to excel in their jobs and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Establish and administer training programs for managers and associates to ensure required level of competence for all operating procedures.

  2. Teach all necessary precautions as well as food preparation, health codes, sanitation requirements, company standards, and those of regulatory agencies.

  3. Prepping and cooking food while assisting venue chefs in recipe development.

  4. Demonstrating basic and advanced cooking skills to associates.

  5. Enforce compliance to departmental standards and specifications and ensure all company regulations are being observed.

  6. Determine needs, prepare course materials, and facilitate presentation of materials.

  7. Deliver, project, and motivate trainees through effective training methodologies both in group and individual settings.

  8. Monitor Food Safety and Liquor Safety Certifications; Conduct certification trainings

  9. Coordinate with venue management team to identify and resolve issues, while reporting concerns and achievements to the Operational Training Coordinator in a reasonable amount of time.

  10. Perform other duties as may be assigned

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Associates Degree in culinary, hospitality or related field or documented work experience in culinary leadership.

  • ServSafe Manager Certification

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated experience creating training plans

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

  • Experience delivering training programs to groups of all sizes, including large groups

  • Must be able to travel and stay overnight for several days or more at a time

  • Two (2) years training experience

  • Three (3) years of progressive experience with all stations in a professional kitchen

TARGET

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, hospitality, or related field

  • ServSafe Manager Certified Exam Instructor and/or Proctor

  • Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking, and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated experience creating training plans

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outook

  • Experience delivering training programs to groups of all sizes, including large groups

  • Must be able to travel and stay overnight for several days or more at a time

  • Five plus (5 ) years’ experience working in a training role

  • Five (5) years of progressive experience with all stations in a professional kitchen
