Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The incumbent supports highly complex projects and provides leadership to less experienced staff while serving as liaison between the user/business community and the IT department. This role facilitates collaboration between business stakeholders and leadership to develop and implement automated business process improvements.
Primary Tasks:
Establish project requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions, use case scenarios and workflow analyses. Ensures all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities.
Prepares detailed requirements specification documents, user interface guides, business process/workflow diagrams, functional and technical specification documents in support of everything from small system enhancements to larger scale project deployments.
Understand long-term business objectives and suggest strategies to meet those objectives; introduce innovation to business processes through technology.
In collaboration with the business, develops new business processes, diagnoses problems with an organization’s current methodology, redesigns processes to improve efficiency, and monitors processes to ensure they are effective.
Conducts needs analysis, organizational readiness assessments, and impact analysis to identify opportunities to link programs, processes, and systems.
Develops business cases for candidate projects. Identify costs and benefits for potential projects to aid decision makers in selecting value projects for their organization.
Serves as a subject matter expert and performs required job functions on urgent, high profile, and strategic projects to ensure accuracy and completeness. Educate end-users to correct entry behavior errors.
Mentors Business System Analysts to improve domain and business analysis process knowledge and skill sets to enhance capabilities, and increase competencies.
Create complex Reports. Document user training materials, process guides, and conduct user training.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, relevant Business Degree
Ability to interact with business staff & management, and IT personnel to gather, compile and exchange information on project requirements and negotiate disputes effectively
Professional IT Certification Preferred
Above average meeting facilitation, presentation, verbal and written skills
Knowledge of at least one project methodology (PMI, Prince2, or Agile Project Management), the software development life cycle (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc,) and at least one relational database management system (prefer MS SQL Server or Oracle).
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (including, Visio, Project, SharePoint, and TFS) with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Minimum of five years directly related work experience in a Business Systems Analyst capacity, including all aspects of process development
TARGET
Three to five years of HRIS or HR Systems experience.
Two to fours years of Oracle Cloud HCM experience.
Two plus years of OTBI experience.
Experience in Workflows and Fast Formulas is preferred.
Strong aptitude to isolate problems, addressing immediate needs, analyzing ramifications, and implementing solutions.
Good business knowledge in HR, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Learning and related processes
Able to communicate with personnel in multi-disciplines from the clerical level to senior management tailoring the communication to the defined audience
Interacts with other team members to exchange information and creates a positive and productive team dynamic
Ability to concurrently manage multiple high priority items
