Business Systems Analyst 2 (Commerce)

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The incumbent works directly with the business in support of IT projects and systems. The role engages with business user groups at all levels to provide support for production systems and requested projects.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Establish project requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions, use case scenarios and workflow analyses. Ensures all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities.

  2. Prepares detailed requirements specification documents, user interface guides, business process/workflow diagrams, functional and technical specification documents in support of everything from small system enhancements to larger scale project deployments. Effectively organize and categorize large amounts of information provided by stakeholders.

  3. Conducts needs analysis, organizational readiness assessments, and impact analysis to identify opportunities to link programs, processes, and systems throughout the organization to achieve optimal efficiency.

  4. Assist in the development of new business processes and monitors processes to ensure they are effective.

  5. Understand long-term business objectives and suggest strategies to meet those objectives.

  6. Work with business owners and stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user testing to ensure that the solution meets the business requirements.

  7. Prepares test plans, executes test scripts, and documents results to ensure proper management and remediation of identified defects. Document user training materials, process guides, and conduct user training.

  8. Provide regular updates to IT and business user management through presentations, status reports, and meeting minutes.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

MINIMUM

  • Associates Degree

  • Ability to interact with management, business staff, and IT personnel to gather, compile and exchange information on project requirements and negotiate disputes effectively

  • Professional IT Certification preferred

  • Knowledge of at least one project methodology (PMI, Prince2, or Agile Project Management), the software development life cycle (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc,) and at least one relational database management system (prefer MS SQL Server or Oracle)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (including, Visio, Project, SharePoint, and TFS) with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Above average meeting facilitation, presentation, verbal and written skills

  • Minimum ofthree years directly related experience in an Business Systems Analyst capacity, including all aspects of process development

TARGET

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, relevant business discipline

  • Ability to interact with management, business staff, and IT personnel to gather, compile and exchange information on project requirements and negotiate disputes effectively

  • Professional IT Certification preferred

  • Knowledge of at least one project methodology (PMI, Prince2, or Agile Project Management), the software development life cycle (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc,) and at least one relational database management system (prefer MS SQL Server or Oracle)
