Benefits Coordinator

Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Support the implementation, administration, and communication of the CNO employee benefit plans.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Administer various insurance programs such as group life, medical, dental, accident and disability insurance, as well as supplemental benefits, continuation of coverage and flexible spending accounts in a self-insured and fully-insured environment.

  2. Assign monthly benefits plan funding, billing, and reconciliation of various group insurance plans.

  3. Provide first point-of-contact to assist employees and covered dependents regarding coverage, claims and related issues.

  4. Administer participation in the Choctaw Nation Retirement plans.

  5. Resolve issues with insurance carriers, care providers and retirement plan trustee administrator(s).

  6. Maintain accurate records and employee files assuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance and confidentiality.

  7. Arrange and conduct employee information presentations and plan enrollment.

  8. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Associates degree in human resources, business, or related field

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local government regulations as they relate to human resources

  • Strong organizational skills, consistently meet all deadlines, and maintain data integrity

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Advanced ability using Microsoft Word, Excel and HCM systems

  • 2 years of directly related experience in employee benefit plan administration

TARGET

  • Associates degree in human resources, business, or related field

  • CEBS certification

  • Tribal Human Resources Professional Certification (THRP)

  • Exceptional ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Vast knowledge of applicable federal, state and local government regulations, as they relate to human resources.

  • Strong organizational skills, consistently meet all deadlines, and maintain data integrity

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Advanced ability using Microsoft Word, Excel and HCM systems

  • 4 years of directly related experience in employee benefit plan administration
