Associate Dining Room Host/Cashier

Description

Start Rate:$13.18/hr

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Greets restaurant patrons and answers phone calls with a positive friendly attitude. Assures patrons are seated in a timely manner assuring that guests have a favorable dining experience.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Greet and seat customers.

  2. Ensure guest recognition by remembering names, faces, and information that makes each guest feel unique.

  3. Answers menu questions posed by patrons.

  4. Distribute the seating as equally as possible among all food servers.

  5. Receive cash from customers in payment for meals. Operate cash register. Make change and issues receipts or tickets to customer. Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.

  6. May pre-bus and/or full bus tables when necessary during peak periods.

  7. Promote current casino events and programs and give guests directions to all casino areas.

  8. Resolve minor guest complaints in a manner consistent with departmental philosophy.

  9. Monitor dining room to make sure it is properly maintained and floor is free of debris.

  10. Some venues may require the Host/Cashier to prepare sandwiches, coffee, pastries, and other menu items.

  11. Other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.

  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.

  • Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Previous cashier experience.

TARGET

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.

  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.

  • Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Previous experience in a fast paced, high volume fine dining or casual restaurant preferred.
