Job Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s):  The Supervisor provides direct supervision and guidance to the Children & Family Services Social Workers in their daily case management activities and to ensure program compliance.

Location: Durant

Schedule: Regular/Full-Time – 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday

Primary Tasks

  • Provide direct supervision to and monitor performance of Children & Family Services Social Workers to ensure compliance with tribal, state and federal regulations and law.
  • Audit cases to guarantee program policies and procedures, funding requirements, tribal state and federal law are being followed.
  • Build and maintain relationships between Children & Family Services, other tribal programs and state/federal agencies.
  • Conduct staff meetings, and instruct/train staff members on specific job tasks/duties/techniques and identify external resources for additional training needs.
  • Prepare and submit required reports for tribal, state and federal agencies
  • Identify and resolve Case Management System and other electronic database issues and implement any changes needed.
  • Respond to and resolve internal and external guests’ needs regarding departmental operations, personnel issues, client services, etc.
  • Assess program needs continually and implement solutions to ensure program efficiency.
  • Assist Director with budget efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field OR four [4] years of directly related experience in lieu of education.
  • Basic knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act, Family Violence Prevention & Services Act, and Violence Against Women Act
  • Basic knowledge of management of federal grants
  • Ability to negotiate, mediate and be assertive at a professional level
  • Demonstrate a high level of cultural competence, sensitivity and responsiveness.
  • Knowledge of case planning, case management, writing skills, communication skills, good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable in court room situations
  • Four [4] years of social work experience
