Description
Job Summary: Develop employment opportunities for job seekers by acting as a liaison between employer and participants. Work with government officials to keep up to date on labor statistics and economic trends. Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, non-profits, area employers and education institutions.
Primary Tasks:
Review, approve and record applications, obtain and verify information to determine initial and continuation of eligibility.
Serve as a recruiter, advisor and documentarian to all eligible clients.
Conduct interviews with participants and maintain an environment in which the applicant is comfortable discussing barriers/challenges, and maintain confidentiality of data and participant records.
Analyze participants need for class-room and on the job training, work experience, or supportive services in order to obtain or maintain participation at work sites, training, and/or employment.
Provide referrals and guidance toward career decisions, tribal and non-tribal benefits programs, and support goals set forth by the participants through a written employment development plan.
File, scan, and maintain accurate records of participants’ allowances, performances, projected completion dates, and conducts follow-up on participant after completion of program.
Assure all documentation has been submitted, maintain files, coordinate with youth counselors to collect timesheets at the end of every pay period, enters time into Kronos, and distribute checks.
Provide a monthly report on participants, program data, field observations, and a projection ledger of all funds spent.
All other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
MINIMUM
Associates Degree in Education or related field
Strong understanding of Choctaw culture and knowledge of tribal programs
Should be well versed in establishing and maintaining budgets
Must demonstrate the ability to lead and supervise subordinates
Three years of directly related experience required to succeed in the job
2 years of related experience
TARGET
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
Expert knowledge and understanding of Choctaw culture and knowledge of tribal programs
Must exhibit excellent knowledge of establishing and maintaining budgets
Must demonstrate proven career leadership with excellent oral and written communication skills
Five years of directly related experience required to succeed in the job
3 years of related experience from several people, programs agencies, and/or administration
3 years of related experience
