Licensed Professional Counselor - Family Violence Broken Bow

Description

The Licensed Professional Counselor - Family Violence will provide therapy to tribal members who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking by an intimate partner.

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Provide therapy to individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Assists individuals to deal with issues associated with, but not limited to; addictions and substance abuse, family, marital problems, depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, self-esteem, aging and any other emotional stressors.

Primary Tasks:

  1. Provide individual, family, and/or group counseling for clients of Family Violence Prevention Program/ Behavioral Health programs who meet eligibility standards set by grant and participates in crisis on call rotation.

  2. Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders.

  3. Prepare and maintain all treatment records, maintain confidentiality of client records, and upholds client safety standards.

  4. Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical needs of clients.

  5. Serves as liaison between program staff, clients, relatives, internal and outside agencies.

  6. Interpret and assist in resolving problems that relate to medical condition and/or hospitalization.

  7. Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans.

  8. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

MINIMUM

  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related human services

  • Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LADC-MH, LMFT) or under supervision for licensure

  • Understand dynamics of domestic violence/intimate partner violence

  • 1 to 3 years working experience in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities. This includes individual, group, and/or family counseling or psychotherapy, case management interventions, diagnostic assessment and related interventions with substance abuse and mental health disorders (co-occurring treatment).

TARGET

  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related human services

  • Must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LPC, LCSW, LADC-MH, LMFT)

  • CDSVRP accreditation through the Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General

  • 3 to 5 years working experience in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities. This includes individual, group, and/or family counseling or psychotherapy, case management interventions, diagnostic assessment and related interventions with substance abuse and mental health disorders (co-occurring treatment).
